What we collect

Your mobile number, to send login codes. We store only a one-way scrambled version (a hash) for matching, not the number itself.

Your home ward, worked out from the pin you place on the map. We keep the ward, not the exact spot.

What you post: reports (text, photos and the pin of the problem), "Me too" votes, your ratings of leaders, and flags you raise.

Your login session is kept in your browser so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not currently use analytics tools. If we add them, we will update this page first.

What is public and what is private

Public: reports (text, photos, the pin of the problem, ward, status and time), "Me too" counts, and leader scores with their averages.

Never public: your mobile number, the fact that you filed a report, your individual ratings, and who confirmed or disputed a fix.

Please do not put faces, vehicle numbers or other personal details in photos or text. We remove the hidden location data inside photos before they are stored.

Who handles your data

Our small moderation team can see all reports, including hidden ones, and takedown requests. The team cannot see mobile numbers inside the app.

Service providers help us run the site: an SMS provider (sees your number to deliver login codes), our hosting and database providers, and OpenStreetMap, whose servers deliver the map pictures to your device.

We do not sell your data.

Why we use it

To check that you are a real resident, place you in the right ward, show reports, work out scores, and stop abuse such as fake accounts and repeat ratings.

How long we keep it, and deleting your account

You can delete your account any time from the report page. This removes your login, your ratings and your "Me too" votes.

Reports you filed stay public, because they are part of the record behind the scores, but they are no longer linked to you. To ask us to remove a specific report, use the complaint form.

Your rights and how to reach us

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you. Contact us using the details on this page. We will reply as soon as we can.

Netano1 is for adults (18 and over).

Changes

If we change how we use data, we will update this page and show the new date.
